February 20th is National Pancake Day

Time to Flip Over National Pancake Day With a Free Short Stack




Who says there is no such thing as a free meal? On National Pancake Day, also known as Mardi Gras and Shrove Tuesday, IHOP, one of America's favorite restaurants, will give away a free short stack of its delicious Buttermilk Pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. to all guests. In return, guests are asked to donate what they would have paid for the pancakes, or more, to their local children's hospital through Children's Miracle Network or other local charities.

On National Pancake Day, also known as Mardi Gras and Shrove Tuesday, IHOP, one of America's favorite restaurants, will give away a free short stack of its delicious buttermilk pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. to all guests. In return, guests are asked to donate what they would have paid for the pancakes, or more, to their local children's hospital through Children's Miracle Network or other local charities. IHOP expects to raise more than $500,000, and 100% of the monies raised locally will benefit the local community.

Here's a Short Stack of Pancakes Facts:

Tradition prohibited the eating of all dairy products during Lent, so pancakes were made to use up the supply of eggs, milk and butter, hence the name Pancake Day.

The tallest recorded pancake stack was made in France in 2003 and measured in at 27 1/2 inches tall and consisted of 980 pancakes.

IHOP expects to give away over 1 million pancakes on National Pancake Day.
